Calling another country
Calling another country from here is an international call: dial +, the country code and the number; you almost always drop the leading zero.
What it costs, country by country — the connection charge, the first minute, each minute after that and the SMS — is in Tarifas internacionales (in Spanish).
IGIC INCLUDED
The list has two columns: without IGIC, for reference, and with the 7 % IGIC included, which is what you pay in the Canary Islands. You are billed for what you actually use.
The plans with international minutes and the minute bundles cover the same list of destinations, and you will find all of it on the mobile page, under «International». Almost all of them cover landlines and mobiles; where only landlines are included you will see it marked «landlines only» beside the country.
Using your mobile abroad: roaming
Roaming is using your line when you are the one abroad. Inside the European Union it works on terms close to the ones you have at home; outside the EU, check before you switch it on.
What it costs, zone by zone, is in Tarifas de roaming (in Spanish).
FAIR USE
Plans with a lot of data usually carry a fair-use limit while you are abroad, and that is both legal and normal. Check it on your own line before you travel.
Special numbers
The 800, 900, 901, 902 and 905 numbers and premium-rate lines have their own list: Tarifas numeración especial (in Spanish).
